This week promises to be an exciting one. Our librarian Mrs Hueneke has done an AMAZING job transforming the library and planning some very special activities for the children to participate in throughout the entire week. Please pop into the CLIC to see all of the super displays.
The children are able to bring in an old white t-shirt during the week and decorate it in the library at lunchtime. They may then wear it to school on Friday with their sports uniform.
There is a special story telling evening on Wednesday beginning at 7pm in the Sustainability Centre. BYO rug and cushion.
Finally Year 1 is spending Friday morning with the school's Writer in Residence. With this in mind we will not require any parent helpers on Friday to listen to readers.
We have our excursion to the Museum and the Monet Exhibition on Thursday. This is a whole day excursion so the children will need to bring a small backpack to carry their drink, snack and lunch. We will be visiting the Museum first where we will explore exhibits relating to our next unit on invertebrates. From the Museum we will travel to the National Gallery of Victoria to explore how Monet used light in his artwork. Whilst many of the children may have visited the Museum before there may be several who have not visited an art gallery. If you haven't already done so it would be great if you could please have a chat with your child about gallery etiquette.
Show and Share last week was terrific. The children shared a diverse range of information with the class all relating to light and we have made a class display from it. If your child did not share something relating to light last week they may do so this week. For everyone else we will have a book week show and share theme they can share their favourite author, illustrator or book with the class.
