Stories, stories, stories!

The children are really enjoying our Magical Tales Unit Of Inquiry. Over the past two weeks we have been reading and learning about Fairy Tales in readiness for creating our own. The class have been concentrating on identifying the elements of a narrative. We now know that all narratives have a beginning, a middle and an end, they also have a problem that needs to be solved.

I would like Week 7's Show and Share to concentrate on a movie or tv episode that your child has watched. They need to be able to identify the problem in the show and how it was solved. They can bring in the DVD if they like but it is not necessary.

Children love hearing oral stories, so Week 8's Show and Share can be a story that someone has told them orally. The children need to be able to identify who told them the story and then briefly retell it to the class.

I have added a link to the IXL Maths site that we use in class. The children are welcome to work on this at home too. They have bookmarked it on their iPads for easy access.

Please take the time to check the App List page on the Blog to ensure that all of the required apps have been loaded onto your child's iPad. There are still some children who are missing The Big Cat apps and the Japanese Toontastic app.
