They approach unfamiliar situations and uncertainty with courage and forethought, and they have the independence of spirit to explore new roles, ideas and strategies. They are brave and articulate in defending their beliefs.
During next week (Week 3), I would like the children's Show and Share to be about the learner profile - Risk Taker. The children might like to talk about a time they were a risk taker, they may like to share a picture or a story about someone in their family being a risk taker or perhaps they have read a book or seen a movie where one of the characters was a risk taker.
The children are very busy working on their Keynote presentation which forms part of their Summative Assessment for our Going Places Unit of Inquiry. These Keynote presentations will be shared with the class during Week 4 (and will replace their Show and Share for that week). As they are also assessed on their oral presentation it would be helpful if they could present it to the family and field some questions.
Thank-you to everyone who attended the Parent-Teacher interviews this week. I hope you found them informative. If you were unable to attend, please email me and I can organise an alternative time to discuss your child's progress with you.
We are on Chook Duty tomorrow so our gumboots will come in handy. If you haven't already done so, please send a pair of boots in to school. I'll keep the boots that are out on the deck in the bag for another week and then any boots that still remain will be delivered to the local charity shop.
Thank you also for donating your recycled materials. I can't wait to see what they will be transformed into!
Here is a link that will take you to an interesting video about biofuels. Please share it with your child. http://media.theage.com.au/national/selections/london-sewer-fat--the-next-renewable-fuel-4216438.html
